When will I see a difference?

My biggest advice is to start using the budgeting workbooks and be diligent about filling in your expenses every day. Once you do that, you really can see where to save. It may take at least 2-3 months to see a change. In the first month, you’re just recording expenses and really see where your money is going and if there are any patterns. In month 2, you can start cutting back on items or patterns you' noticed in month 1. Month 3 forward, it’s all about reviewing expenses and making conscious choices if it’s with the expenditures.

what is the best way to use the workbooks?

Other than keeping track of my spending to see how to cut back, I also like to play a game with myself. I’ll try to see how little I can go on for the month without going too low. For me, I found I can go as low as $125 per week and still feel able to do everything I want to do.
